Generation Hope

First Nations young adult followers of Christ share their stories! / (from Issue #566)

REAL LIFE. REAL PEOPLE. REAL HOPE.

HAVE YOU HEARD of NCEM’s latest endeavor, “Generation Hope”?

Generation Hope, or Gen H, is a vibrant offshoot of NCEM’s television show TRIBAL TRAILS! It is geared toward the younger demographic aged 15-35, using the influence of social media.

The idea of Generation Hope was sparked years ago by some of the Tribal Trails staff. They sought to showcase the voices of young First Nations individuals who have found Jesus and share that hope with others. The spark may have ignited years ago, but it wasn’t until 2022 that the concept began to take shape after NCEM intern Linsey Blodgett was stationed at the head office.

Witnessing the profound impact of Tribal Trails within First Nations communities across Canada, Linsey, alongside her husband Jordan Blodgett, felt compelled to extend that outreach to younger demographics. Thus, Generation Hope came into being.

They quickly worked to capture testimonies and conduct interviews. They began releasing short-form videos—approximately a minute long—on platforms like TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram every Thursday afternoon. These brief yet impactful snippets aim to engage those who use these platforms often, enticing them with glimpses of transformative testimonies.

March 15th, 2024, Generation Hope took another stride by unveiling full-length testimony videos on YouTube. These full testimonies are now released every second Friday! These testimonies range from a few minutes to half an hour and dive deeper into personal narratives, hoping to enrich viewers with stories of faith and redemption through Jesus Christ.

The early response to this ministry has been exhilarating. A single TikTok video gained over 16.4 thousand views worldwide, signaling Generation Hope’s far-reaching potential. While the immediate impact may not be measurable, the stage is set for God’s intervention to work wonders. Without Him, algorithms and worldly focus may win, but with Him, there is no limit on who may be impacted!

But here’s where you come in! Engaging with Generation Hope’s content on social media platforms is crucial in magnifying its reach. Liking, sharing, and commenting on their videos across all platforms doesn’t just show support; it actively boosts algorithms, ensuring these inspiring testimonies reach an ever-expanding audience.

If you’re intrigued, excited, or ready to dive in, you can start by scanning one of the QR codes on the back of this Northern Lights issue. Let’s spread the hope of Jesus Christ together, one video at a time!

As the Great Commission urges us, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). Join Generation Hope in sharing the gospel through social media.
